Time to Get the College Kids Scheduled
Many older children have several weeks off over Christmas break. This is the ideal time to get them scheduled for an eye exam before hitting the books again. College students have just finished a very stressful time at school by completing several exams and finishing up the semester. Many kids may have recently experienced severe eye strain while studying. Now is the perfect time to get their vision checked.
Make Sure to Address any Eye Problems or Symptoms
If there are any problems with vision your children have been experiencing, it’s a good idea to get it checked when school is out. Headaches, blurry vision, or complaints that it’s difficult to see what’s going on across the classroom can all be addressed during break. Other symptoms that may indicate your child has a problem with vision include excessive eye rubbing, squinting, and losing his or her place when reading.

Many parents may think since so many schools offer vision screenings that their child’s vision needs are already being met. Most school screenings, however, are not nearly as thorough as those conducted by trained optometrists and often miss many potential problems. It’s imperative to have a trained medical professional examine your child’s eyes. Making an appointment over Christmas break is the perfect time to have your child’s eyes examined.
