ABOUT Dr. Mestel

Dr. Mestel attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry, graduating with honors, and received the Marchon Eyewear Practice Management Award. Before attending optometry school, Dr. Mestel officiated men’s college basketball and served as Athletic Director for the Richmond, Indiana Parks and Recreation Department.

Dr. Mestel has over 26 years of experience providing full-scope optometric care, including comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye exams, diagnosing and treating ocular diseases, and co-managing pre- and post-operative care for cataract and refractive surgery. He fits all major brands of contact lenses invluding astigmatism, multifocal, and rigid gas permeable.

Dr. Mestel is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Indiana Optometric Association. In his free time, he and his wife Jennie enjoy traveling, hiking, kayaking, and bike riding. He is an active marathon runner and Ironman triathlete.
