What to expect on your appointment

What to expect at your appointment

Welcome to the VisionFirst community!

Thank you for trusting your vision to the caring doctors of VisionFirst. While an eye exam isn't painful, some people find it stressful, especially if this is their initial visit. It's our desire to make you as comfortable as possible.

Registration

New patients must register for their visit, either in-person or online. We encourage patients to register online in order to save time. Online registration includes providing account responsible information, and detailed personal and family medical history. By completing this registration prior to the day of appointment, it will save time on the day of the appointment. Click here to start registration >

Pre-Exam

Upon arrival at our office, the patient will check in with our desk staff and provide them with any medical and/or vision cards as well as a photo ID of the patient (or guardian). If pre-registration was completed online, please let the staff know so they can pull up that information. If pre-registration was not completed, the staff will provide the necessary forms to be filled out.

Eye Exam

During the exam, your doctor will discuss your vision and any issues you may be having. They will also review your medical information and diagnostic testing that was completed by the technician. If needed, the doctor will finalize an eyeglass and/or contact lens prescription. If you are having a medical issue, your doctor will give you a plan of action for the care of your eyes to keep them healthy.

Frame Selection and Follow Up

Once your exam is complete, you doctor will bring you out of the exam room and take you to the front desk to check out and schedule any necessary follow-up appointments. Our opticians and doctors will coordinate your care and make sure that you end up with the best pair of glasses for your vision needs, as well as your sense of style.
