Dr. Joseph Hammond received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry. Dr. Hammond started working at VisionFirst in high school as a pretester before pursuing his career in Optometry. Dr. Hammond practices full-scope optometric care ranging from comprehensive eye exams to pre- and post-operative care for cataract and vision correction surgery. He also has expertise in diagnosing and treating ocular diseases. Dr. Hammond also fits all major brands of contact lenses including contacts for astigmatism and multifocal wearers. In addition, Dr. Hammond fits specialty contact lenses. Dr. Hammond also specializes in minor lid lesion removal and Yag Capsulotomy, a procedure to clear secondary cataract.
Dr. Hammond is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kentucky Optometric Association.
