In the last six months, VisionFirst has seen exponential growth among our team. We are going to share a 4-week blog series highlighting our newest doctors we’ve welcomed to our staff and their unique approaches to excellent eye care in Kentucky.

When you come into one of our 15 office locations across the region, we want you to recognize your doctor and see a familiar face. Our committed doctors want to get to know YOU as our patient and understand your specific eye care needs, anything from examinations to the latest fashion eyewear and technology.
Get to Know Dr. Dugger at VisionFirst
This leads us to introduce one of our newest doctors to join our VisionFirst team, Dr. Matthew Dugger. Before joining forces with the VisionFirst team, he along with Dr. Braaten, another new member of our team, lead their own medical practices. He merged his business with the VisionFirst practice this past June.
Dr. Dugger appreciates the employee-owned element of VisionFirst and their rapid growth in the industry. He said that the VisionFirst offices are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for the benefit of their patients, and he is grateful that his patients all have access to it as well.
What Dr. Dugger’s Up to at Hurstbourne & in Shelbyville
As a new VisionFirst doctor, he now practices at the S. Hurstborne and Shelbyville, KY locations. He lives near the Shelbyville office and enjoys the small-town feel the area offers. But he still loves spending half his time at our Taylorhurst location as it is only a few minutes away from his former practice. So that area is very familiar to him. A number of his patients who saw him when he ran his own office continue to see him at the VisionFirst Taylorhurst location. He loves getting to see those familiar faces, and he hopes more of his long-time patients will choose to drive just around the corner from where they used to go for eye care to his new office at VisionFirst! We’re honored to have his years of experience, and some of his patients, now under our roof!
Dr. Dugger shared that the medical profession is dramatically changing and VisionFirst makes it easier to accomplish “better patient care” and grants “more accessibility to newer technology.” We’re glad he’s excited to be a part of our team too.
